Grade Calculator
How to Open the Grade Calculator
- Open Grades
- Click the Grade Calculator icon (calculator), to the right of the “Grade Trend” header
- If you have multiple classes, a list will appear — select the class you want to calculate for
What Could I Get?
Projects your overall grade by letting you set hypothetical scores for every ungraded assignment.
Each ungraded assignment appears as a row with a slider and a percentage. Drag the slider to set a hypothetical score — your projected grade updates at the bottom of the dialog.
Default Slider Positions
Each slider starts at your current category average. If a category has no graded work yet, sliders in that category default to 100%.
Projected Grade Indicator
The projected grade at the bottom is color-coded against your at-risk threshold:
- Green — projected grade is at or above your at-risk threshold
- Yellow — projected grade is below your at-risk threshold
Reset
Click Reset to restore all sliders to their category-average defaults.
How the Projection Works
For weighted courses, each category’s hypothetical grade averages your existing graded points with the hypothetical scores, then applies the category’s weight. For non-weighted courses, raw points are summed across all assignments. Extra-credit categories (zero weight) are excluded.
What Do I Need?
Calculates the exact score you need on a single remaining assignment in a category to achieve your desired overall grade.
Requirements
This tab unlocks when a category has exactly one assignment left to grade. If no categories meet this requirement, the tab shows a “Come back later” message. Extra-credit categories (zero weight) are excluded.
Steps
The dialog shows your current overall grade for the class at the top.
- Select the target category (the one containing the single remaining ungraded item)
- Enter your desired overall grade
- Click Calculate
The result will tell you one of the following:
- You need X% on that category to reach your target
- You’re already above your target — your current grade already meets your target
- Score is unachievable — the needed score exceeds 100%; adjust your target grade
